Pop star Rihanna has been named Humanitarian of the Year by the prestigious Harvard Foundation.
The Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations honoured her with the 2017 Harvard Humanitarian of the Year award.
The singer has founded many charities in her native Barbados, plus her works with numerous others; and her work has been recognised with the honour.

A ceremony was held Tuesday to present the award to the multiple award winning star.
“So I made it to Harvard,” Rihanna said after receiving the award.
“Never thought I’d be able to say that in my life, but it feels good.”
“All you need to do is help one person, expecting nothing in return. To me, that is a humanitarian.” The singer, born Robyn Fenty, implored others to join her in helping the less fortunate in society.
