Actor John Dumelo recently picked up an award ahead of the 2017 Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ougadougou (FESPACO).

At a ceremony in the Burkinabe capital, John picked up an award – but his acceptance speech was what got the place lit up.

Taking to the podium, Dumelo did his best to string some sentences in French.

He shared video of the moment on social media, expressing thanks for the honour.

Special thanks to the Minister of Culture, the Mayor of Ouagadougou, the Organizers of Fespaco and to the people of Burkina Faso for this award. Means a lot.
