Pete Edochie and Rawlings
Last week, the Ghanaians social media landscape threatened to melt into nothingness after a photo of these two elder statesmen – Jerry John Rawlings and Pete Edochie – surfaced online.
The Nigerian actor is in Ghana as part of the cast for the upcoming all-star, Kofas media production – and was present as the group visited the former Ghana leader.
During their conversation, Edochie reportedly proposed a means to get accountable public officials – by having them sworn into office on the lesser gods and not the Bible.

According to Pete Edochie, the lesser gods are quite swift in administering justice, unlike the biblical God, who is merciful.
Therefore, if people are sworn in using the lesser gods, they would be less likely to chop state cash since they would fear instant retribution from the gods.
I’ve heard this idea floated around but never seen it taken seriously. Whilst I don’t believe these lesser gods, or any God, can really do anything – people believe they can and that might just serve as an adequate deterrent.
