Socrate Safo Is Not Ready To Be Deputy Minister – Mark Okraku Mantey

The battle over who becomes the next Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts seems to be a never ending one with so many names thrown into the pot but a decision have not yet been made.

Perhaps the earliest frontrunner was Socrate Safo, whose name was thrown into the fray almost immediately after the election and a campaign mounted to lobby for him.

Since then, many other names such as Kojo Antwi and Abraham Ohene-Gyan have been thrown in into the hat as the lobbying intensifies.

CEO of Slip Music and celebrated producer Mark Okraku Mantey, in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Fm, has undercut the qualifications of Socrate Safo for the role.

According to Mark, Safo is not ready to take on what is essentially a management role.

“I won’t be a hypocrite to change my words….I told him [Mr. Sarfo] that he is not ready,” he said.

“They shouldn’t put him there. They should do something else”

He added: “I think that the perception about we need an industry person is not enough. We need an industry person who is ready, who has a wide knowledge of management because it is not just critics because we are not going to do critique.”

The President has so far named Catherine Afeku as the substantive minister, but has still to name who would take up the deputy role.
