President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo met the UK’s foreign secretary Boris Johnson earlier today in his first bilateral meeting with Ghana’s former colonial masters.
The meeting occurred at the seat of government, as the pair discussed issues of trade and regional security in a meeting which affirmed the long standing ties between the two nations.

Johnson was accompanied on the trip by Jon Benjamin, the outspoken UK High Commissioner to Ghana, whilst Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia were part of the Ghanaian group.
