The former first family have finally vacated the Cantonments residence they used to occupy.
The building, at No.3 Prestige Link, was the official residence of the vice President when John Mahama moved into it in 2009, and he remained there even as C0mmander-in-chief.
The house became the subject of intense public debate after Mahama requested for it to be given to him as his retirement home, sparking a political furore which ended when he formally withdrew his initial request.
The state owned Daily Graphic is reporting that the former first family have completed their packing and have moved out of the residence.
“Sources close to the former administration confirmed to the Daily Graphic that the former Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, signed a report of an inventory conducted in the residence by officials of the administration and the Public Works Department (PWD) yesterday (Monday) morning to signify the official handing over of the house.” a report posted on their online portal read.
“Security personnel at post in the house confirmed that Mr Mahama had packed out of the house, but could not tell exactly when he did.”
Another indication Mahama and his family have moved out is a post he put up on Instagram Tuesday morning.
