Asantehene-Otumfuo Osei Tutu II
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has named his sister, Nana Ama Konadu, as the new Asantehmaa of the Asante Kingdom.
The 83 year old would succeed Nana Afia Kobi Ampen II, the Asantehene’s mother, who passed away last year and was only recently buried.
Nana Ama Konadu is the late Asantehemaa’s first child, and the Asanteman Council announced she would be succeeding the late monarch at the Manhyia Palace today (Monday).
She would be the 14th Queenmother of the kingdom.
