Communications director of the event organising body Charterhouse, George Quaye, has called on gospel singer Ohemaa Mercy to do whatever she wants with her VGMA plaques since she claims she does not like them anymore.
The manager of the singer, Isaac Twum-Ampofo, intimated that she is considering returning her plaques for the awards she’s won at the VGMA’s unless those who have taken bribes as alleged by George Quaye are named.
Ampofo said that would be the only way for his artiste, who’s also his wife, would be cleared of this insidious allegations.
But in a sharply worded rebuttal, Quaye said he would do no such thing and that Ohemaa Mercy owns the plaques and thus can do whatever she likes with it.
“To every artiste who has won a plaque before, it’s your property and what you choose to do with it is entirely up to you so if anybody wants to return a plaque for whatever reason it is totally their prerogative”. he said.
But in a follow up interview, Twum Ampofo promised they would do exactly as they promised unless Quaye follows through his threat and names those involved with the bribery.
