Transport fares are likely to go up Monday, just as a new Minister of Transport assumes his office after being approved by Parliament.
According to 3news, the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) have indicated plans to move transport fares up once again.
Sources remain adamant that ongoing consultations with stakeholders are likely to be completed over the weekend and thus the new fare increment is slated for Monday.
There is no clarity on what exactly the percentage increment would be, only that there would be one.
Transport Minister Isaac Ofori-Asiamah was approved by Parliament this week and is expected to start work officially on Monday.
