Former President John Dramani Mahama Attacks Trump’s ‘Muslim Ban’ – Calls It ‘Regrettable’

The former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has condemned the travel ban implemented by US President Donald Trump, calling it ‘regrettable’.

The former leader of Ghana, who lost elections last year, called on the ongoing African Union Summit to address the controversial issue which affects a couple of African countries.

“The travel ban is regrettable. The ongoing AU summit must address this development.” he tweeted out Tuesday, his tweet directed at the official handle of the President of the United States (POTUS).

President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order prohibiting immigration to the US from seven countries he claims are the hotbeds of terror, who export extremists to the US – Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.

The order has proven controversial for its wide scope of application (affecting green card holders) and it’s implications of being a step towards the ‘Muslim ban’ he proposed whilst running.
