Airtel Ghana has over the years been offering below abysmal customer service to Ghanaians with unending complaints on social media and our sister website-CustomerDiscuss.Com, therefore, their exit from Ghana will come as a delight to a lot of Ghanaians.
According to a report by Adom Fm, “Bharti Airtel, the mother company of Airtel Ghana, has announced that it will be exiting 14 African countries including Ghana within a year.”
The affected countries include Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, Chad, Gabon, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
“The move would pare the size of operations in the continent and could be completed within a year….some of Bharti’s businesses in 14 African nations would be affected,” said Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal per the report.
This confirms earlier reports that Airtel Ghana and Tigo Ghana will merge in Ghana and be taken over by Orange, a French telecommunications company.
