President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed David Asante-Apeatu as Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Wednesday, to replace John Kudalor.
Asante-Apeatu, 59, is a long serving officer with international experience and who has been charged by the new administration to increase the proficiency of the force.
A trained forensic scientist, he was until his appointment the Director-General in charge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) & Marine Directorate of the Police Service.
