Comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney (DKB) has outlined the numerous benefits getting ‘exposure’ brought to his career and thus, to him, Sarkodie was not wrong to offer that instead of money to people to work with him.
In case you have been living under a stone, Sarkodie offered some people ‘exposure’ to work with him on an upcoming music video, there would be no payment involved.
Some Ghanaians did not respond too kindly to his plan, wondering why such a rich artiste would want to ‘take advantage’ of those he would work with. M.anifest trolled him on that a little, but one person coming to his aid is DKB.
DKB explained how the beginning of his career was spent doing such jobs for free (exposure) – and how that later massively benefited him.
“I MCed BolaRay shws in Legon & got no penny for 3yrs(I didnt even ask) Now guess who gave me 30,000gh EIB airtime 4 #PointofView #EXPOSURE.” he tweeted.
He added: “In 2009 I was MCing Yaw Sakyi’s Bball shows for #EXPOSURE. Only to get my first job at Yfm after HR said “Oh u the Bball MC,U are hired”“
