The draw for the 2019 African Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon has been held and Ghana has been handed what can be described as a ‘soft’ group, although that is no guarantee of anything.
Ghana would have to move past Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Kenya in the qualifiers to book a spot at the 2019 tournament.
Neither of the three nations are part of the 2017 tournament which kicks off later today, having failed to qualify.
One unique part of this draw is that Cameroon would take part in it, but would still qualify automatically. Based on their final position, the next highest team in their group would qualify.
The top team in each group would qualify, alongside the top three runners up teams.
