President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ordered all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) to vacate their posts and hand over all notes.
The order was contained in a letter sent to all MMDCE’s and signed by Hajia Alima Mahama, the Minister designate for Local Government.
The new President, as is the norm, would appoint local government heads of his own to work with.
Nana Addo has promised the elections of MMDCE’s as part of his platform, and the next chance for that to possibly happen, assuming the reform takes place, would be the 2018 District Level elections.
