Ghana’s policy think tank, IMANI has described the president’s additional ministries not necessary and quite fishy. According to Franklin Cudjoe, the NPP is even appointing more ministers than the NDC did.

Speaking in an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, he said the creation of Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry and National Security is not necessary— suggesting a merge of some of the ministries.

“There is a national security minister, there is a defence minister and there is an interior minister, why are we going to war.

This is a very small country and I think that we should be able to manage our resources very well especially our human resources.”
