Former MP for Dome Kwabenya, Professor Mike Ocquaye, is set to be the Speaker of Parliament for the next four years.
The veteran politician would lead the seventh parliament of the fourth republic, which sits for the first time on 7th January, 2017 – when Professor Ocquaye alongside the new leadership would be sworn in.
The MP for Bekwai, Joe Osei-Owusu, would be first deputy speaker whilst Alban Bagbin, the long time Nadowli MP, would be the second deputy.
Other top roles include Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu for Majority leader, with current Dome Kwabenya MP Ms Adwoa Safo as deputy and Kwesi Ameyaw as Majority Chief Whip. The corresponding roles in the minority would be held by Haruna Iddrisu, James Klutse Avedzi and Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.
