4. John Dramani Mahama – Mahama Dumsor

The name Mahama became synonymous to power outages. The problem became so bad to the extent that whenever there was a power outage, all you could hear was Mahama.

Whereas previously there was a general chorus of “ooooh”. Whenever you heard someone complaining Mahama had visited them, it meant their power was out.

Otherwise known as dumsor, many prominent figures criticised the government and went on many demonstrations because of it. Mahama dumsor was definitely a gloom period in our history.
