The name change of Ghana’s seat of government from the Flagstaff House back to Jubilee House would yield no benefits to Ghanaians and actually cost us quite some money.
That is the contention of GhanaCelebrities.Com editor Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri in a social media post.
The NPP have announced plans to rechristen the seat of government back to its original name, the Golden Jubilee House, which it was named after being constructed under the Kuffour administration. But the next government under Atta Mills changed it to Flagstaff House, before the NPP’s win in the recent elections portend yet another harebrained name change.
Chris-Vincent argued on Facebook that the name change has no tangible, real world benefits, and would cost us, the taxpayers, money in the long term.

“The Flagstaff House – Ghana’s seat of Government – has been re-christened the Golden Jubilee House as Nana Akufo-Addo takes office from January 7, 2017.”
I supported, campaigned and believe in Nana Addo and the NPP but this is not the sort of news items we need. What will a name change bring the ordinary people of Ghana?
Herh!
I want to see; 30 new dams have been structured to be built oo!
And then NDC comes to power and they will also change the name! What kind of child play are Ghanaians involved in?
So what will happen to all stationaries printed with the FlagStaff House on them if any? Throw them away and let Ghanaians pay for new ones right?
PS: And don’t tell me anyone is going to change the duration of SHS too!
