Former President Jerry John Rawlings is in his greatest elements on the day of his revolution, December 31st.
The former President, speaking at the commemoration of the day, has spoken out on the NDC’s humiliating loss in the 2016 elections, blaming it on corruption that sprung up unchecked within the party.
The former President said that ‘corrupt’, ‘uncouth’ and ‘uncultured’ elements within the party led to their loss, also reserving some blame for President John Dramani Mahama, who he said was blinded by power, alongside his officials.
He said this made the party lose his way and thus Ghanaians punished them by electing in Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Today marks the 35th anniversary of the December 31 1981 coup led by Rawlings, who took over from Hilla Limann and ruled for the next 19 years.
