Harrison Ford has released a statement expressing his grief at the death of fellow Star Wars star Carrie Fisher.
Fisher passed away Tuesday after suffering a heart attack last week.
“Carrie was one-of-a-kind… brilliant, original. Funny and emotionally fearless. She lived her life, bravely… My thoughts are with her daughter Billie, her mother Debbie, her brother Todd, and her many friends. We will all miss her.” Ford’s statement read.
Fisher suffered the heart attack Friday just towards the end of her flight from London to Los Angeles, where she was returning to spend the holidays with family.
She was rushed to hospital where it was revealed she was in critical condition, but has unfortunately succumbed.
Fisher was most known for portraying Leia Skywalker (Princess Leia) on the 70’s cult classic Star Wars, the original trilogy – alongside Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. The trio reprised their roles in 2015’s ‘The Force Awakens’.
Fisher is survived by daughter Billie, who’s also an actress and currently stars in Fox’s ‘Scream Queens’.
