President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo paid a courtesy call on the Western Regional House of Chiefs earlier in the week to reiterate to them his incoming administration’s intent to keep to its numerous promises made to the region during his campaign.
Nana Akufo-Addo during campaigning made numerous promises which eventually won him the region – promises such as creation of a new region and utilising a greater portion of its oil revenue for its development.
Akufo-Addo, who was accompanied by his vice Dr Bawumia and other top party functionaries, told the chiefs his administration intends to honour those promises, and also outlined the planned concrete measures, such as the referedum for the creation of the new region scheduled for 2018.
