A gas station near the International Trade Fair Centre in Accra exploded late on Thursday, with about six people confirmed dead so far.
The Glory Gas filling station, situated between the La Cemetery and the Trade Fair Centre, caught fire around 6pm from a yet to be discerned cause.
About six people are believed dead, with over a dozen injured and in critical condition. The Ghana National Fire Service were on the scene fighting the blazing inferno after it occurred.
The explosion, which was quite intense, rose up and caught a high tension cable in the area, whilst a heat wave swept across nearby houses.
