Wiyaala is androgynous in some ways, no question, but she has learned to live with it and exploit it in her career – but there were times when she wasn’t so thick skinned and she received so much hate she could not deal with.
She said one online troll even once told her that she had a penis!
“It’s cool, it’s fantastic. I don’t get angry with these insults anymore” she said on Live Fm, speaking of a troll who said a chainsaw would be needed to break her virginity.
“These ones are baby, koko.” she told Berla Mundi.
“I have heard worse, someone actually told me I have a penis.”
Wiyaala said as a young girl such comments really got to her, and she used to beat up those who made fun of her, but she has now learned to brush those off and concentrate on her career.
She also revealed she tried bleaching once to fit in and look beautiful but then had to abandon it as she learned to love herself.
