The campaign manager of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu, has declared the NPP winners of the 2016 elections and are thus calling on the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to concede the race.
At a press conference held at the Party’s headquarters in Accra around 2am Thursday, the party claimed that they have received certified results from over 80% of the polling stations in the country and that their tabulation shows that Nana Akuffo-Addo has climbed into an unassailable lead.
Speaking to the media, Mac Manu said that Nana Addo has received 4,676,998 which represents 54.91% of the total votes cast, whilst the President has received 3,694,724, representing 43.38% of the total votes cast.
According to the party’s former chairman, the rest of the polling stations are unlikely to change the results, and thus they are calling on the NDC to concede the elections.
These figures are simply coming from the NPP and are not certified by the EC, although the opposition are quite confident that they have won the election.
According to the NDC though, they are still in the lead.
