The Electoral Commission website went down for large parts of Wednesday night/early Thursday at a crucial time when Ghanaians were eager for certified results from the Commission.
The website came back up earlier this morning and has started posting up results, and the Commission has revealed that they were down due to hacking attempts.
The Commission told the BC that the attempts to post up fake results on the site failed miserably and they have regained control.
The Commission have been maddeningly slow in releasing certified results from the polls, despite the expectations of the populace who are trying to scrap up every piece of information on the election they can find.
With the EC being slow to release results, both major parties are claiming they are leading the polls.
..
We deplore the attempt to hack the EC’s website. Please respect the integrity and independence of the EC
