Despite Obinim's Assurances – Diamond Trounced In Trobu Parliamentary Race With Less Than 1% Of The Votes Cast

Diamond Appiah was assured of victory by her spiritual father, Bishop Daniel Obinim, in her quest to be elected as MP for the Trobu constituency in Accra, standing on the ticket of the United People’s Party (UPP).
The former singer, who is a staunch member of the Bishop’s International Godsway Church, said all through her campaign that she had been assured of victory by Obinim, and with results filtering in from Trobu it looks like she was saddled with some false hope.
Diamond failed to garner even 1% of the vote in Trobu, garnering a whopping 429 votes out of the total votes cast of 75, 792.
The constituency was actually won by the NPP candidate, who received 48, 786 votes.
