The sitting MP for Akwatia, Baba Jamal, has become one of the many casualties currently sweeping the nation in the parliamentary polls, with provisional results showing he has lost his seat to his NPP challenger.
Baba Jamal has polled 15,905 votes while his opponent, Ama Sey has garnered 21,433 to build an unassailable lead in the race for the constituency.
Jamal wrestled the seat from the NPP but has been unable to hold on to it, with the NPP gaining the seat back as they also win back seats all across the country.
The Electoral Commission are yet to release certified results for any constituency but this is what the provisional results tell us so far.
