US Vice President Joe Biden has hinted at a possible run for President in 2020, based on how ‘fate’ decides to intervene.
Biden has been Barack Obama’s right hand man for the past eight years, and chose not to run when the race for Obama’s successor began last year.
But with the Democrats having badly lost the Presidential elections and with Trump’s rise to power, questions have already started over who might lead the party in 2020, and Biden has hinted he might be one of those.
“Yeah, I am. I am going to run in 2020,”Biden told reporters Monday.
The 74 year old later backtracked, saying he was not going to commit either way.
“I’m not committing not to run. I’m not committed to anything. I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening,” he added.
Biden was one of Trump’s most vocal critics during the campaign, and a weirdly effective style of hitting at him. Many believe he could be an effective candidate to take on the real estate mogul in four years.
