The Electoral Commission has announced a second day of special voting to be held Sunday to compensate for Thursday’s error riddled first.
The special voting exercise, for the security services, reporters and other essential personnell in the country who would be otherwise engaged on December 7 – was riddled with errors during Thursday’s exercise, leading to mounting pressure on the Commission.
Names disappearing from the rolls, or transfer of votes not going through were just two of the myriad of challenges that made the exercise a near fiasco.
This forced the Commission to release a statement acknowledging the numerous challenges they were facing, and subsequently, they have announced a second day of special voting to be held for all those disenfranchised.
The exercise would come off on Sunday, December 4, before Ghana goes to the polls on Wednesday, December 7.
