The National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams, has rubbished allegations of bribery brought by the NPP against President John Dramani Mahama, claiming it is a fabrication meant to create tensions in the country ahead of the elections.
According to Adams, the opposition are desperate and are thus engaging in political gimmickry.
The NPP, at a press conference held in Accra Tuesday, accused the President of bribing the party’s Northern Regional Chairman Bugri Naabu with Ghc 500,000 and a vehicle, as well as numerous other instances of bribery – to get him to turn on the NPP and declare flagbearer Nana Akuffo-Addo as anti-Northerner.
But speaking on Asempa Fm, Adams rubbished the claim.
“We have one week to election and so the NPP as a means of creating tension, have decided to hold unnecessary press conference just to tarnish the image of our President. They have no evidence because it is just a political gimmick.” he said.
