Samuel L. Jackson is to be honoured with the Dubai International Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Pulp Fiction actor will add the accolade to his already long list of achievements, including a BAFTA and Hollywood Film Award.
The Dubai International Film Festival is the Middle East’s biggest movie-based event, opening this year with Jessica Chastain-starring Miss Sloane and closing with the eagerly anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on 14 December (16). Other films to be screened include Manchester By the Sea, La La Land and A Monster Calls.
“It’s a great honour to be given the Dubai international Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award,” he said in a statement released on Monday (28Nov16). “It’s wonderful to be included into the Emirates’ film community, and I look forward to meeting all of its amazing filmmakers and making many new friends.”
The ceremony takes place on 7 December (16), the opening day of the 13th edition of the annual festival. Two days later Jackson will be talking as part of a special In Conversation event too.
Previous recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Oliver Stone, Martin Sheen and Omar Sharif.
