Young, burgeoning dancehall star Emmanuel Quayeson, popularly known as Vybrant Faya, whose life was unfortunately cut off earlier this year at 29, was laid to rest over the weekend in Ashaiman.
Yet it seems his funeral was deserted by the music fraternity, even the dancehall one, of which he was a rising star in.
According to a report by bigtriceonline, only about three musicians were able to appear at Faya’s final funeral rites – Kofi Kinaata, Donzy and Ras Kuuku – as well as one representative from the Musicians Union of Ghana.
Faya was signed to Shatta Wale’s SM label, and Stonebwoy is a well known Ashaiman boy, yet neither apparently made the funeral.
No member of the upper echelons of MUSIGA was also present – raising questions about what exactly led to such a near universal boycott of the funeral of such a young star.
