The much anticipated showdown between Martin Amidu and Alfred Agbesi Woyome would have to come off another time, if it comes off at all – after the Supreme Court adjourned the case earlier today (Thursday).
Today is 24 November, the much touted date for Amidu to cross examine Woyome in the judgement debt saga.
Woyome’s lawyers filed a last minute suit Wednesday to halt the proceedings, attacking the validity of the earlier judgement. In court today, Woyome’s lawyers raised the motion, which has to be settled before any cross examination can go forward.
Martin Amidu was asked to file his response, but he said he was only served the new motion earlier today. Trial judge Justice Anini Yeboah thus adjourned the case to allow Mr Amidu time to respond to the new motion.
He has thus been handed the statutory three working days to file his opposition.
