This year has been one horrible year in terms of losing celebrities, with some very very big names, legendary names that have been with us for so long, dying. The list is long, and diverse - from old men near to their time, middle aged, but also some very shocking young ones dying abruptly. All throughout the year, we were hit with shock after shock after shock as these people passed away, with each subsequent death bringing more murmurings about how fatal this year has been. Below we compile ten of the most shocking of the year, the celebrity deaths that shocked so much that everyone pretty much remembers where they were when they heard about it. Belinda Asiamah Belinda was not not the biggest name in the Ghanaians public sphere but her death was undoubtedly one of the biggest shocks of the year, in large part due to her very young age. The model passed away due to complications from an ectopic pregnancy in August. She was most known for her performances in Guru's 'Boys Abr3' and Obrafour's 'Pimpinaa' music videos. Minister Danny Nettey [caption id="attachment_79828" align="aligncenter" width="770"] Minister Danny[/caption] The charismatic and soulful Danny Nettey's death shocked an entire populace one early Friday in July. Nettey was found unconscious in his room around 2am on 15th July, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. His family expressed massive shock, having only seen him as vibrant as ever the night before. Vybrant Faya [caption id="attachment_88352" align="aligncenter" width="770"] Vybrant Faya[/caption] The young, breakout dancehall star's death hit hard both in the shock over its abruptness via motor accident, and by the fact that he was so young. The 29 year old, born Emmanuel Quayeson, died after being hit by a motor near the Accra Mall last month. Daasebre Gyamenah The news of the death of the highlife great came out of left field, hitting Ghanaians like a brick wall. Daasebre's shocking passing occurred on July 29 at the 37 Military Hospital. He has stayed in the news post death due to disputes over who gets to bury his body between his maternal and paternal sides. Confidence K. Baah Kumasi based journalist Confidence K. Baah's death mid October shocked so many in the Ashanti Region and those familiar with his work nationwide, leading to one of the most unbelievable stories of the year. Baah had appeared on air just a day before his death and carried out his duties efficiently as always. The next thing people could hear was that he was dead, having been unable to wake up from his sleep. Mc Flava Pounds The popular Efiewura star, born Lucky Azasoo-Nkornoo, died back in May. Flava Pounds death was shocking considering he was only 27 and had been on social media just hours before his passing thanking followers for their support as he battled illness. Flava Pounds was most known for his role in Efiewura, as well as in Atom's 'Yewo Krom' video. Omanhene Pozo Pozo had been sick for a while now after the heady days of the genesis of his career, but the latest news before his death about him was that he was going to get surgery to attempt to correct his condition - believed to be a brain tumour. In September, news of Pozo's death hit a shocked nation, with close pal Barima Sydney announcing it on social media.George Williams For all his longevity George Williams was someone people never imagined passing away anytime soon. Even at 87, he was considered something of an immortal. Williams passed away in July at the Korle Teaching Hospital after his family rushed him there following complaints of an illness. Bob Okala The veteran comedian was not known to be in great health but dying whilst performing on stage was not something anyone was expecting. Okala, born Samuel Kwadwo Buabeng and most known for his days on KeySoap concert party, died in March after collapsing whilst performing at an event organised by Joy Industries in Koforidua. He was rushed to hospital but unfortunately could not survive. George Forest The legendary record producer passed away out of the blue at the end of August. Forrest was well known for serving as producer for some of the biggest gospel stars of the past couple decades, including Obaapa Christy, Gifty Osei, Ohemaa Mercy and Philip Baafi, among others. We're sure we've missed quite a few, putting into perspective quite how horrible 2016 has really been for those in the public eye.
