Daasebre Gyamenah's Paternal Family Will Not Attend His Funeral After Losing Fight Over Who Gets To Bury Him

It’s been a battle of wills since the death of highlife star Daasebre Gyamenah since his death, with both his maternal and paternal sides engaged in a battle over who gets to bury him.
Things got so bad the issue even ended up in court, which is absurd – I don’t think anyone fought over him this much when he was alive.
Eventually, the maternal side won and get to bury him this weekend in Anomabo, with the final rites starting on Friday, November 25.
But spokesperson for his Koforidua based father’s side, Yaw Boateng, has revealed they would be unable to attend the ceremonies. According to him, they have a funeral this weekend and requested an extension from the matrilineal side which was not granted, so they would not be able to make an appearance.
“Friday we have a funeral to attend at Koforidua so we cannot make it. When the date was given, we told them that we also have a funeral on that day so they are aware of it.” he said on Hitz Fm.
When asked if their non attendance can be linked to their inability to win the battle to bury the singer, he claimed otherwise.
“When we went to court, we agreed not to drag the issue so the body being buried in Central Region is not a problem to us.
“There is nothing we can do about [not coming]… Only God knows that we have a clean heart.”
