Bibi Bright Says The Ghanaian Movie Industry Is Dead So Being Openly Political Cannot Hurt Her Career

Actress Bibi Bright has laid down exactly why she believes her career would not suffer any consequences from her decision to openly engage in partisan politics – the Ghanaian movie industry is already dead.
It’s one fear of numerous celebrities who dare to venture into politics, that their career might suffer if their chosen party fails to win power – but Bibi does not have that fear at all.
Speaking to MzGee on Hitz Fm, Bibi, who has endorsed and is openly campaigning for NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, said Ghanaians already do not patronise movies, and thus there is little chance her foray into politics would have any effect on her career.
“What system are you talking about? The industry is already dead so what system I’m I going to get back to? I shoot my own movies. So if I shoot my movies and Ghana is not buying, I take them all the way to Nigeria to sell.” she said.
“So if I’m to shoot my movies and Ghanaians or NDC people say they will not buy, it is not a problem because already they are not buying.”
According to her, with the no-existent Ghanaian industry, Nigeria is where the money is so there is little chance anything she does here affects her revenue.
“All the market is now in Nigeria so there is nothing that I do or say in Ghana that will affect me in anyway because there is no system for the movie industry. It is already dead.” she added.
