President Mahama Does Not Deserve Four More Years In Charge Of Ghana – Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom

President John Mahama

The flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has emphatically called on Ghanaians to reject the NDC and hand the mantle of power over to his party in the December polls.
According to Dr Nduom, President Mahama’s handling of the country the last four years prove he is not deserving of another four in charge, listing numerous sectors in which he believes this government has failed.
Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom would be one of four men contesting for the highest office in the land in December 7’s Presidential elections…His post, put up on social media, can be read in its entirety below….
MAHAMA DOES NOT DESERVE FOUR MORE YEARS!
One thing I know for sure is that John Dramani Mahama does not deserve four more years as President of the Republic of Ghana. President Mahama and the NDC have been in power for eight years. Eight years is long enough for anyone, any political party to demonstrate what they can do.
During these eight years, Ghanaians have become poorer. We have suffered dumsor, which has led to many companies shutting down and thousands of jobs and lives lost prematurely. The Mahama administration has left us with near HIPC level debt despite an unprecedented level of government revenue. Ghanaians are still vulnerable to preventable diseases such as malaria, cholera and monnococal meningitis. The majority of our children fail to advance beyond junior high school and at 14, 15 and 16 years old, our children are making children, unemployed and building resentment that could one day explode in our faces. Graduates from our polytechnics, technical universities and universities are at home jobless.

Why build huge, fancy hospitals but cannot pay the nurses and doctors and not even the trainees? Why build schools when teacher trainees cannot be funded and teachers are not paid sometimes for two years? Why build fanciful flyovers when the rest of the roads including the one leading to the cocoa, cashew, rice, mining and other productive areas of the country remain dangerous? The answer is clear – these are meant as vote-getting projects meant to take the people’s minds off their daily misery. This ploy is not working.
In this eleventh hour, President Mahama now realizes that the youth need jobs. He is promising three million new jobs. This after eight years of our people losing jobs due to factory closings and dumsor. When a President borrows money to build factories that soon become dormant like the Komenda Sugar Factory, it is time to send him back home. Enough is enough.
As a result of their failures, the NDC and President Mahama have resorted once again to unprecedented vote buying and use of taxpayer and donor funds to campaign. NDC surrogates are all over the country especially in areas they considered safe, in the Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Volta regions begging the people to forgive them and give them another chance to reward them. That is a sign of a failed administration. This is not working!
In all humility, I wish to ask for change, change that the people can feel, change of the positive type. Change by making history to vote and bring in the PPP led by leaders who are down to earth, practical, experienced, competent, inclusive in attitude, incorruptible to transform Ghana beyond our dreams in four years.
