President John Dramani Mahama has revived his long running feud with NPP vice Presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying that the latter would never be allowed to lead the NPP.
The President was speaking in the Upper West region when he made the comments, claiming that the NPP would never allow a Northerner to lead their party.
“I want to live to see the day; you let anything happen today and let our brother Bawumia say he is standing for president in NPP. They will never give it to him; I can assure you.” he said.
Mahama cited the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama as an example, noting how he had to face a challenge from 16 competitors when he wanted to lead the party after Kuffour.
In another portion of his speech, the President expressed pity for Northerners calling for change.
“They (the NPP) will use you and dump you,” he blithely informed them.
