The second wife of the late actor Katawere, Madam Beatrice Boatemaa, has revealed that the veteran star was battling kidney disease at the time of his death.
Katawere, real name Ebenezer Donkor, died Monday morning after battling an undisclosed sickness for over two years – as confirmed by his daughter Diana.
Speaking to Razzonline, Beatrice revealed the actor developed a urinary condition which he had been battling since, and later kidney failure was discovered during the course of treatment.
“My late husband underwent urinal operation last year  at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital so he was undergoing medical check-ups every two weeks at Dr.Opoku’s hospital at Dansoman before six months ago doctors told me my late husband was battling kidney failure.”
Katawere was well known for his role in Efiewura, the popular long running local show. He was 78.
