U-20 World Cup – Black Maidens Fall To Last Gasp Loss Against New Zealand

The female National U-20 team started off their World Cup campaign on the wrong foot after they lost 1-0 to New Zealand.
The Maidens were able to hold the island nation for long periods of the game, and came close to snatching a win numerous times, but in the end fell to a last minute goal.
Substitute Tayla Christensen rounded goalie Victoria Agyei in the 89th minute after bursting through the Ghana defence to give New Zealand the last gasp victory.
The Black Maidens are in a tight spot now, with games against the USA and France coming up in a tough group. The two sides drew goalless in their game.
Ghana meets France in the second group game on Thursday.
