Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, professionally known as Basketmouth – has announced intentions to run for the highest office in his country during the next Presidential elections in 2019.
Former reality tv star Donald Trump surprisingly won the US elections Tuesday night thus breaking the mold of what a typical politician can be.
And if a reality star can be President, why not a comedian?
Shortly after the Trump win, Baskemouth took to Instagram to announce his own upcoming run.
“My Esteemed people, in fulfillment of my threat/promise regarding the outcome of the just concluded #uspresidentialelection I am announcing my candidacy for the Office of the President of our dear country in the 2019 general elections.” he wrote.
“Consultations are ongoing and I will announce at a future date under what party. #MakeNigeriaBRIGHTAgain,”
Of course, Basketmouth is a comedian so only God knows if he intends making Nigeria Bright Again or he’s just kidding.
