The website of the Canadian Citizenship and Immigration website crashed for a while during the heat of the US Presidential election after Donald Trump took a lead in the race.
Hillary started the race in the lead but as Trump overtook her and seemed increasingly likely to win, people started panicking and the Canadian website crashed for a few minutes.
Some twitter followers took notice of the crash and started posting about it on the social media site. Google data also suggested that the search ‘move to Canada’ witnessed a significant spike during the race.
With the race now nearly over and Trump almost President-elect, these people better intensify their search because Trump would rule the US for the next four years.
