The Electoral Commission have announced the seven Presidential aspirants who would contest the December polls after the deadline given by the Supreme Court for those disqualified to remedy their mistakes passed.
Some of the disqualified aspirants failed to correct their mistakes on time, meaning at the end of the day only seven candidates made the final list – including Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
After the candidates who qualified had been sorted out, the balloting for positions were held and this was the final results – with NDC in 3rd position and NPP in 5th.
1. CPP – Ivor Greenstreet
2. NDP – Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings
3. NDC – John Dramani Mahama
4. PPP – Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom
5. NPP – Nana Akufo-Addo
6. PNC – Dr. Edward Mahama
7. JOY – Jacob Osei Yeboah
The 2016 polls comes off December 7 as Ghanaians choose a new President and a legislature.
