A Chinese woman is making waves online after her smart brain outwitted 20 guys in her quest to buy a house for herself.
Identified by the pseudonym of Xiaoli, the woman reportedly managed to juggle 20 boyfriends for a while, and then when the iPhone 7 went on sale in China in September, convinced them each to buy her one.
From the proceeds – 120,000 Chinese yuan (or about £14,500) – she made a down payment on a new house.
Ingenious.
The BBC reported on the news after it caught fire on Chinese social media, and was able to verify it.
Writing on a Chinese social media site under the name Proud Qiaoba, a blogger described what motivated her friend, Xiaoli, to take this drastic step.
“Xiaoli is not from a wealthy family. Her mum is a housewife and her dad is a migrant worker, and she is the oldest daughter. Her parents are getting old and she might be under a lot pressure hoping to buy them a house… But it’s still unbelievable that she could use this method!
“Everyone in the office is talking about this now,” she added. “Who knows what her boyfriends think now this news has become public.”
Not much apparently. I would be furious.
