A ‘prophecy’ is only as strong as the equivocation placed behind it. If an occurrence is inevitable, and it has been revealed to you, then what you say must come to pass exactly without any ‘ifs and buts’.
But the prophecies we hear from preachers always have these little caveats that let them weasel away when what they claimed doesn’t happen. That’s exactly what Owusu Bempah is doing here and that makes his prophecy about as useless as they come.
The controversial preacher, speaking on Metro TV last night, claimed that he has foreseen a victory in the US elections for Hillary Clinton. However, if she’s not careful Donald Trump could overtake her and snatch victory from him.
There are two people in the race – what kind of prophecy is that? A might win but B might also win?
At least on the Ghanaian election, he’s a little more sure of himself – Owusu Bempah maintains that Nana Akuffo-Addo would win the election comfortably.
The US elections comes off next Tuesday, November 8. Clinton has a slight lead in the polls heading into the big day.
