5. Kwame Dzokoto
The Non-political Politician— Dzokoto was the first professional advertiser to make a claim for a parliamentary seat. He had a distinguished career in comedy and advertising early in life but became a respectable politician who speak of issues and knows what his job as a legislator is all about.
He rode his popularity into politics, even though he had never run for any political office beforehand. He made a claim for a parliamentary seat when we first heard off him in active partisan politics.
In fact, well into the early days of him sniffing around the camp of the ruling party, most people didn’t even know what party Dzokoto belonged to; as an entertainer, he had deliberately stayed out of politics.
The NPP were as eager to recruit him as the NDC. Dzokoto will be a fine and great politician bringing his advertising skill and experience to the floor of parliament.
He can be a good lobbyist on the floor of parliament, since one of his duties as a parliamentarian, is to lobby for good policies and laws in favour his constituents.
He can reach the pinnacle of the Ghanaian politics if only he does not let deep rooted partisan politics swallow him up.
He relates well with both demographics of the political terrain due to his ability to stick to issues and take emotions out of his campaigning.
He does logic and issue based campaigning. We wish him well and hope that, he wins the seat he is making a claim for to parliament.
