3.Mzbel
She is also known as Nana Akuamoah. This is a songstress whose career has been rocked with so many controversies and life’s most difficult and awkward situations but has kept swimming against the tide the Ghanaian terrain threw at her.
She is never been without controversies and shame but she has made meaning of the saying, “never say die, until the bones are rotten”.
Dusting herself of to build her brand to even go to the extent of marketing political brands. She lived the literal saying “Sex Sells”, to perfection making her gain admirers, fans, sympathisers, haters and critics.
She recently took on an advocacy role with the electricity company of Ghana to create awareness on the misuse of electricity.
No one ever thought she was preparing the ground to be a politician. She is the most popular nudist celebrity of all time.
Her popularity is such that people have spent hundreds of cedi to check if there is a nude photo of her on the internet in current hours.
Mzbel is “smart”, strong at heart and is a liberal soul— which would have made her one of the best politicians of her kind.
She has seen it all and would be the best public servant to understand the frustration and difficulties of women and children.
But she entered politics on a back foot due to her penchant to mix real issues with sexual appeal and pettiness. Due to this, the masses don’t get to take her serious on her campaign for the political stock she has decided to flock with.
She would have served herself and Ghana best by tapping into her pain, strength and self will to champion the course of women and children to win more votes for her political house.
If she should do this she can survive in a political climate, where personality attacks is rife and thriving. She can avoid being referred to her past, if she should minimise the pettiness and bad girl attitude.
She has to separate that bad ass speeches from real issues concerning governance and policies.
A section of Ghanaians believe she can do better and more than most of our current female politicians, unless she doesn’t plan to take advantage of the political clout she has build in these few months.
