Twitter To Shut Down Popular Video-Sharing App Vine

Twitter have announced that the video sharing app Vine is being closed down as more and more of its features are integrated directly into Twitter.
Vine allows users to create short, looping videos of noteworthy events of up to 7 seconds to post, and achieved tremendous success for a while until it was purchased by twitter.
Vine was popularised especially through its utility in sport, as goals and celebrations or other noteworthy moments could be captured and played over and over again.
Twitter have now announced the shut down of the app, to be completed gradually in the coming months.
“Nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today. We value you, your Vines and are going to do this the right way. You’ll be able to access and download your Vines. We’ll be keeping the website online because we think it’s important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made.” the company said in a statement.
Vine has suffered since twitter rolled out its own video services, and its becoming increasingly obsolete.
One person not too happy with the news is Vine founder, Rus Yusupov.
