The Politics Of Religious Pandering: Mahama Says 'God Has Already Decided Who Will Win' The Election And Unsurprisingly He Thinks It's Him

President John Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama says his victory has already been decided by the Lord God in heaven as he has been chosen to win the 2016 polls.
Mahama is embroiled in a tight race with the NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo for the Presidency and neither have shied away from declaring that God has chosen them for the job.
“As I said yesterday, God has already decided who will win the 2016 polls as we speak.” he told supporters during a rally in Kyebi in the Eastern Region on Thursday.
“He has already decided the winner. And I know by God’s grace, by the grace of Jesus, Insha Allah, Insha Allah, 7th December, 2016, NDC will win the elections.”
This is not the first time the President has invoked the ‘God’ theme into his speeches, and he’s not the only one guilty of this kind of blatant religious pandering.
What’s funny here is that in an attempt to sound inclusive, the President claimed both God and Allah have ordained his victory. But being a Christian surely he must think Allah is a false God and that Muslims are going to hell since they don’t believe in Jesus – so on what grounds does he claim that ‘Insha Allah’ (Allah willing) he’s going to be elected?
Hypocrite.
